Back to School Cards and Crafts

Hi crafty friends! Back to School is upon us and today I am sharing a few projects that I created in preparation for my daughter starting school.

These projects were created for a YouTube collaboration that I have going on with Tmika of Scrapdaworld. Check out the video below for even more details and chance to enter my giveaway. As always, you can find product links at the end of this post.

I dug deep into my stash to find products to use for this challenge. I used an older Spellbinders Club kit that creates a clipboard, scissors, and pen + an older card kit that has school themed paper and a stamp set. I also used a SimonSaysStamp Ledger stamp and newer "Looking Sharp" die set that is affordable. I love that is is layered.

I also dusted off my embroidery machine to create a badge holder and the cute pencil earrings for my daughter's teacher. You can find earrings listed in my store if you would like to grab a pair.

Grabbing the stamp set, I used to the pencil image to create the backgrounds on thecards above. I simply used a stamping block and black archival ink to add the pencils all over the card front. I was content with light stamping and even a few smears here and there. Once I added color with my alcohol markers, and added dots with a felt pen, even the mistakes looked intentional.

Both cards use the "looking sharp" sentiment. I also used the pen dies from the clipboard set to create a pencil.

I wanted to do more with the ledger stamped papers. Both of the above cards ensure that the lines stand out. Of course I could not NOT create a shaker card. I also created a couple more of the pencils and used the composition book cover paper to make a simple card that popped.

If you would like more in-depth details, watch the video below as I walk you my process. Happy crafting!
