Always There Release Blog Hop Day 2

Hi crafty friends! I am excited to be joining in the Simon Says Stamp Always There release blog hop by sharing an elegant card featuring release products. Be sure to head over and check out the full release HERE.

I wanted to play around with texture without getting out my pastes and other mixed media products. By using embossing powder, stencils, and wood veneer cardstock, I was able to achieve my goal. To begin, I stencil the Willowweave Stencil on 2 black panels of cardstock and heat embossed those with black embossing powder. 1 panel is of A2 size and the other was cut down to 3 x 4 1/4 inches. Die cut wood veneer paper using third largest Sparkler Scallop Frame. Layer the smaller stenciled rectangle onto the scallop frame. Center and adhere those onto the stenciled A2 panel.

Using the same wood veneer paper, die cut the Fable Sitting Bear and add shading to the ears, eyes, nose, and paws using alcohol markers. Assemble the bear using foam squares for dimension. Anchor the bear to the bottom right corner of the inner rectangle. Finally stamp and heat emboss a sentiment from the Pawfect Together stamp set onto the same black cardstock. Create a sentiment strip and adhere that to the panel.

I did not want to mess up the flow of the stenciled pattern, so I opted not to add jewels or gems. I love high contrast and texture contained in this card.
