Dreamy Jewel Tone Cards-- Altenew August 2023 Inspiration Challenge Card

Hi crafty friends!

Today I am sharing two cards that I created for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. Never heard of this challenge?

Well, each month Altenew hosts a challenge featuring a designer's color scheme and concept for the month. If you would like to learn more, head over the the Altenew Blog.

I fell in love that with the colors that Mindy chose for the challenge. I initially decided to create a card that did not incorporate florals. To do so, I grabbed the stamp set from the Nursery Zoo Creativity Kit, Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink, and Easy Breezy Fresh Dye Ink from Altenew. I wanted to do a bit of watercoloring so I stamped the body of the giraffes all over in Antique Linen, and then stamped the lined details in Easy Breezy. I spread the Easy Breezy with a small brush.

Once all of my giraffes were dry, I colored my background using an Ice Grey 1 Spectrum Noir marker. I then grabbed Blue Spruce Spellbinders cardstock and cut an A2 panel that I again cut to create a triangle. I used the Blue Spruce triangle as a guide to cute the giraffe panel. Once that was complete, I stamped the "sending our love" sentiment from the stamp set and heat embossed using Gilded Embossing powder. I added details using a white gelly roll pen and matted it onto a white panel that I colored the edges using a coordinating alcohol marker.

This next card features the August Craft Your Life Kit: Sweet Buttercups. You have until September 2nd to subscribe if you are interested in the kit. I stamped the images in Antique Linen and then went back in with Sunkissed, Dark Chocolate, and more Antique Linen . The leaves are stamped in and watercolored using Easy Breezy.

I again using Blue Spruce cardstock for the main panel, adding Antique Linen and water to the Fine Tulle stencil and smooshing. I added more splatter with a paintbrush. I stamped sentiments from the stamp set and embossed using Gilded Gourd embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I then arranged the flowers and there we have it. You can see my process below.

Alright, so there we have my card makes. Feel free to comment below. Also, do not forget that the window to sign up for the Craft Your Life Kit is September 2nd.

Happy Crafting!
