Hi crafty friends!
I did not craft International Scrapbooking Day this year and missed out on so many great challenges. Luckily the Pinkfresh Studio INSD challenge gave me a little more time to do some creative play.
I always intend to scrapbook more, but never do, so I use challenges like these to get at least one layout done. I also am not a 12x12 layout kind of girl. I love looking at them, but that amount of space can be intimidating to work with. Therefore, I choose to make 6x8 layouts and add in pocket pages when creating themed scrapbooks.
This floral scrapbook page is filled with inked peonies. I used the Peony Print stamp set + the coordinating stencil set for the background of this layout. I will say, although this is a simple a layout, creating the background was no small feat.
The stamp is heat embossed using Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder + Embossing ink. I used the stencil and an array of Tim Holtz inks to add color.
Tim Holtz Ink colors include: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Broken China, Milled Lavender, and Twisted Citron. When inking, I took advantage of colors overlapping to create more variations of colors. I also used what was on the brush before reinking.
Once I cut down my image, I decided to add a vellum floral accent using the Nothing But the Best Stamp and Die set by Pinkfresh. These products are currently unreleased and were used for the Spring Create and Connect Virtual Cardmaking Event hosted by Pinkfresh in February of this year. These images are also heat embossed with Alabaster and flower centers are inked using residual ink left on my brushes.
I layered the inked vellum flower atop the other and used foam to give dimension. With the picture in place, I anchored this floral accent to the bottom corner of the image. I used a scrap of the background to back my title which is is handwritten.
I enjoyed this challenge and quickly realized that I have so many more great memories that need to be documented. Did you participate in INSD this year?
Happy Crafting!
